A limited edition fusion of 2 fruitwood timbers that separately are notoriously difficult to turn into charcoal.
We have combined Cambridgeshire/Suffolk Cherry with Herefordshire English Apple to produce a charcoal that exhibits the amazing characteristics of all 2 timbers:
Apple - The charcoal is dense and long burning, highly carbonised with rich-smokey fruit & distinctive aromatic notes that will give a great flavour.
Cherry - The charcoal has a sweetness that your might expect from a fruit wood as well as a darker cherry flavour. It will hold it’s own against game, and is exceptional with a duck breast or nice piece of venison.
The cherry in the current batch is from local woodlands where it had been planted as a ‘nursery crop’ to support slower growing hardwoods like beech and Oak.
